Internet/LAN/Gaming issues?

Whenever I host a game, it lags horribly. The firewall is disabled. I tried playing Dungeon Siege 2 but it said directx play 8 couldnt play, i have dx 9, so it should be fine. Any suggestions to help LAN and online gaming speeds.

What's your internet speed like?

you need better than 64k upstream that's for sure.

you should look at minimum 256kb upstream before hosting games.
