On Cash in the Attic, do they sell practical items or just antiques?

Question

I don't remember what the show was like but they're coming to my house in a few days. I don't have cable.
If anyone has any info or suggestions, or even description of episodes that'll give me a better idea.
What would make the show more interesting?
Do they look for useful and modern items or just old stuff to auction?
Where do they auction your stuff?
Is this the show I saw one time, where they help you sell your stuff like a yard sell, and talk you in to getting rid of something you like?

They look for both. I mostly know the British one, and am unaware of were you live. In the American one, Most of what they find is practical stuff, and they make the show more of a joke than the one that the Brits show. I have seen hundreds of episode of the British one, and one or two of the American one. If you live in England, they LOVE nick knacks, the tackier the better. Some of the most tackiest things I have ever seen sold for hundreds of pounds. In the American one, I think they like furniture more. They find more of that then anything. And they will always try to talk you into selling things you like, especially if it is worth a lot. But they don't do a yard sale thing. That one is clean sweep. Good luck, and have fun.

omygosh im so jealous!! I love that show!! not that that helps you. lol...first, they only sell antiques because they sell them at antique auctions. the yard sale one you mentioned may be clean sweep, but that's on TLC. umm...if it's a practical antique, like a 100 yr old clock they would help u sell it....not modern items tho. it depends on how they define an antique....ugh, im still so jealous, that host is hot!!
