First of all it is the 1st Amendment. Secondly they can't do that. You can contact the American Center for Law and Justice:

First, it's not teachers who make the rules; it just happens that they're the ones who have to enforce them. Second, the issue with school and religion isn't in the religion itself, it's in the appearance of a publicly funded educational facility favoring one religion over another, or of coercing students to accept / join a religion.
So that's the tip of the iceberg when discussing religion in public schools (let alone government, etc...). About what happened with you and your small bible. It sounds like that teacher may have gone a little overboard, but there might have been other factors at work too.

It's the First Amendment, not the Second. You have a right to carry your Bible. Unless you were reading it during class or reciting out loud from it during class, or using it to proselytize to your fellow students, you have every right to carry it.

My opinion is that all religions, Catholicism, Islam, Agnosticism, Mysticism, Spiritualism, Atheism, and yes, Liberalism have absolutely no place in public schools.
There are plenty of schools that teach religions so why shouldn't children have a choice of schools that don't.
If the tuition is too much for some, send the kids to places of worship.
By the way, we all have the freedom to choose which religion to live by, as well as the freedom of expression. That doesn't mean that we have the right to ignore policy in public places that may have a rule or two about it. I suggest that you check your school's policy regarding your situation.

She can't stop you from carrying your bible to school, or reading it during lunch, or on your own time. I'm with Jon M. You have rights. Contact Sean Hannity. He loves to expose Liberal teachers. He does it all the time. Contact him.

Were you reading it while she was teaching? Other than that I think that teacher is in the wrong.

the whole situation doesn't make sense. Nowhere in the constitution does it even mention separation of church and state but the government is forcing God out of all of our lives. Most of this country believes in God and the constitution was based on Christian principles.

They can't do that. It's against the law. Put it on top of your desk, then call the UCLJ.
