Are anti-glare items good for the eyes? I mean is it better to use anti-glare than to use your computer screen without it? Does it make a difference?

It depends on the lighting. If you are lucky enough to have natural, indirect light to your left (which does not shine directly on the screen), it seems to be about the best.

If you are in a room with bright, glaring overhead lights, an anti-glare screen might help. It's a judgment call.

I don't think the anti-glare screen will hurt your eyes, but staring at the screen for hours without a break might cause them to get dry and itchy. We are advised to take at least a 5-minute break every hour. Unmedicated moisture drops which mimic natural tears may help relieve your eyes.

My daughter had a pair of anti-glare glasses and they did nothing for her. In fact, the anti-glare coating got scratched and we had to have the coating removed by a professional. So, if you do get anti-glare glasses, make sure you are taught to clean them properly. Honestly, I would not waste my money. Take a 5 minute break from your computer every hour, remember to blink while using the computer (that was my daughters problem - she stared and did not blink enough) and use your eye drops.

Never tried one, but some doctors recommend it for people who complain about watery eyes or similar issues.
