I'm not personally really believing most of it, but people say the world will end on that day. I don't believe it because it seems like too much of an arbitrary(sp?) date to actually be true and the claims all range in how the world will end. Some people say there will be an asteroid that hits the earth and shatters everything into millions of pieces.

Others say it involves a large 10th planet called 'planet X' passing through and altering the earth's magnetic field with it's gravity so much that there will be a huge flood like what happened with Noah in the Bible and Quran. That one also branches off into saying that it will be a new beginning of the world because it needs to be cleansed and things like that. Others just say that everything will be wiped out from the water. The entire human race will go extinct and pretty much only plants will be left. There will be some small colonies of animals and things like that to repopulate the world and become the dominant species of the planet.
Another branch of this says that the world will be plunged into another ice age. That will apparently be caused by the poles shifting, which will cause the climate of almost every place to 'switch' with another place. That will lead to a chain reaction which eventually brings about a new ice age, like in the day after tomorrow. the thing is, alot of the sites/sources mix the information up and attribute all of that to more than just a pole shift.
Pretty much every branch of that 'school of thought' believes the actual structure of the earth will change. most say India will totally break off from Asia, California will become a group of islands, and most of the world will be very different from today. Basically how to describe it is plate tectonics sped up alot and changed around a little bit.

The last major one involves aliens (obviously there'd be one like that.) These just branch off into the kind of things you'd see in the black and white magazines on a stand in New York. Some people claim to be in 'close contact' with things that look like all shapes and sizes. others say they just know it. You get the idea.

No offense, but I don't really believe most of that. I guess the Planet X and the flood one seem like they could be possible because I'm Muslim and know about Nuh(Noah) and stuff like that, but I'm still not convinced.

And to anyone reading this who got offended by anything, I'm sorry for any part that offended anyone. I just have my own way of thinking and sometimes that clouds my judgement. So no offense to anyone out there.
