How? What if they hunt you down no matter where you go???? How can you get away??? And more importantly if you can manage to get away, how can you ever emotionally get over something like this?

Firstly it very much depends on your age. Prior to 16 (I believe- I may be errant) you must remain in the custody of an adult- and what better (theoretically) than your parents.
I completely cut ties with my family due to some complex issues- but I was 18 at the point and fully self-sufficient (and I never got any money from the government).
It was extremely tough- having to pay for accomodation, food, car bills, and I decided unless I got an education- it would be too hard so I enlisted.
Point is that you really have to sit down and balance rationally what the pros and cons are if you leave- and I will warn you it is extremely tough to keep on the right track once your completely on your own- noone is there to help.

I was in one family like that after my marriage. Yes cutting ties would help but that help is only momentary, It gives you peace of mind but only momentarily. And sure if they don't want to leave you alone then yes they will hunt you down. And NO you cannot get over pains inflicted by so called family members. The best thing to do is talk it out, communicate and LISTEN to what they have to say. Despite everything that you try if problems still persist then you need to ignore them and minimise interactions with them and at every oppurtunity voice it out that you would rather do something different than what they want to do.

Pls do not make hasty decisions. You are talking about your own family.
Try sitting down with a third person and have a heart to heart discussion and resolve the issues and problems.
It is not easy to cut off ties with family and this thing does not go away easily. They always ends up regreting the action taken.
The other things that you can do is consult your church elders or seek counselling from approved institutions.

Good Luck

I use my caller ID and don't answer any calls I don't want to. My family has been glad to leave me alone for the most part.

Change your number, don't give it to any of them.

Emotionally, it just takes time. The first year or two that I did not speak with my family was a little hard. Now I am relieved that I can have a nice holiday with my husband. I appreciate my inlaws very much. They are a kind family and NOTHING like mine.

There's a few things you can do:

Leave no forwarding address to your family.

If you can afford to shell out a few bucks, go to the city court, get your name changed.

If you want to go the full route, acquire a death certificate, file your old name under that one before you change to a new name.

THE FIRST THING YOU MUST LEARN IS THAT FAMILY MEANS MUCH MORE THAN JUST BLOOD. FAMILY IS ANYONE THAT YOU LOVE AND LOVES YOU BACK. IT SHOULDN'T BE HURTFUL, HATEFUL OR DESTRUCTIVE. JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE HAS GIVEN YOU LIFE DOESN'T MEAN THAT YOU OWE THEM YOURS. TRY AS HARD AS YOU KNOW HOW TO WORK IT OUT. IF THEY DONT TREAT YOU AS FAMILY THEN THEY MUST NOT REALLY BE FAMILY, ITS ONLY BLOOD NOT LOVE. TRULY, THE SOUL MEANS MUCH MORE. LEAVE THEM BEHIND AND HAVE A GREAT LIFE. MAKE A NEW FAMILY AND FEEL SORRY FOR THEM. LOVE YOUR SELF

It depends on what your something like what... is.
If you decide you do not want a relationship with a person- any person- you can choose not to respond to them. They can not force you to carry on a relationship.
I;m sorry- I don't know what your true issue is- and it could take you some time to internally resolve it and decide how you want to truly take action on it.

if your fear for your life, get out! I'm not sure how old you are, but there are women shelters who will hind you at any cost! even if they have to ship you out of state! if you are a minor, call children services from a friends phone to see what they can do for you! i wish you the best, & will pray for your safety!

Definitely. How would they find you? Really?

Once you don't let their garbage get in your way, and they see that you will not be involved...they will drift away.
