That was not only illegal, but stupid. Anytime anyone dies, it is a good idea to first call an ambulance and the police. If the death is the least bit suspicious, a coroner's investigator will have to look at the body. If, in the case of a murder, anyone moving a body could be destroying evidence. No, thats not from watching TV, that is just common sense and experience.
There are also laws governing desecration or abuse of a corpse. So, play it safe, the next time you come across a body, or if you know that someone has died, call the police and an ambulance. And if someone throws a body in a car for a joy ride, beat them with a ball bat because that is just the epitome of disrespect.

well im sorry for someone u know for losing a family member thats the worst as to moving the body most people in case its just fyi people who have heart attacks usually feel they have to use bathroom thats where theyll die heartattack when i moved dad to downstairs for dignity onto his fave couch they questioned the people supporiting myself and children as to why we moved him downstairs as if i let my daddy and im old now die and taking a dead body for a ride is suspicious i dont get that but what he may have been told was i want a last ride in my ride before they take me i choose to believe the latter just my own opion he did nothing wrong unless he died sucpiciously

It looks extremely suspicious. Usually the authorities need to investigate the situation and moving the body can scatter and destroy evidence. It's better to call them first.

it all depends on the situation revolving around the death. if it was a dying old man and he just passed, no.. it is not against the law. if the cause of death is unknown or with suspicious circumstances, then it IS contaminating the crime scene and against the law.
