we're planning to go there during spring break(and only one of us would be 18 by then) We really want to bring one of our friends who've never been to L.A. before, but we've not been having much luck.
Booking hotel at not only Disneyland, but most (or maybe all) hotels need to be at least 18 yrs old. and that's problem # 1. Problem 2 is that although we could fly there (from SFO), transportation is another challenge. Third of all, we are also thinking about touring Downtown L.A., which we would have trouble getting there. Some of us know how to drive, but for now we are plannig to fly there. (and we wouldn't be able to rent cars due to our age).

Any suggestions?

these are what we've thought of:
-have somebody's parent dirve- parents don't seem to be too popular at this monent
-"GradNite"- a program that offer trips to L.A. during spring break organized by our school- some of us aren't seniors and wouldn't work
-go with a tour, like tourists: would be the absolute last opion

One option -You all can fly Southwest Airlines (very cheap now) from SFO to Burbank Airport. There is a train-Metrolink or Amtrak (preferably because it is just outside of the airport) to Anaheim Station (situated at the parking area of the Angels BaseballStadium) which is 2 miles from Disneyland. You can book into any of the hotels (depending on your budget) close to the train station. Or, check with the hotel concierge if they have complementary pick up from the train station. Most hotels will have courtesy shuttles to Disneyland.

The positive thing about this option is that from the train station you can all go to Downtown LA ( take the free or $1.00 tour city bus) then another train to Hollywood with train stop just under the Kodiak (American Idol venue) Theater. Then you can just amble along the Hollywood Boulevard and see all the weirdos and tourist stops -Chinese Mann and Egyptian theaters, etc.

Of course, the easiest is just rent a car because bus and other public transportation in LA or Orange County areas is not as efficient as in NY or San Francisco.

THESE ARE JUST SUGGESTIONS. On the other hand, Grad Nite organizers, have all the hotels, accommodations, travel and transportation all covered already. So, it all depends on your budget, how adventurous, how flexible you all are.

Or maybe just call Disneyland vacations to do all the arrangements for you.

The best places in Disneyland would be Fantasyland, Critter country, and Mickey's ToonTown. Type the words 'city pass' into your browser and it will take you to a site where you can purchase a the city pass and get discount tickets. The pass includes a 3 day park hopper pass to Disneyland and California Adventure, 1 day at Universal Studios(they are a little young to enjoy this one), 1 day at Sea World and Your choice of 1 day at either San Diego Zoo or the San Diego Wild Animal Park. Adult city pass costs $235 and for children it is $189 this saves you like 30% on what you would pay if you bought all the tickets seperate. These tickets dont have to be used all in 5 days. You have 14 days to use them all so you could take 6 or 7 days if you wanted to. You know take a day away from the parks in between them all to get a break from the crowds or something like that. As I said before Universal studios is probably not going to be a popular one for them but they would probably love the zoo and Sea world. Disneyland has all the great kids rides in fantasyland as well. They might remember more of the trip if they were older but I am sure they would still have lots of fun. Sounds like you guys are in for a fun time. Have a great vacation!

That all depends on the ages of everyone.
