Nothing written (that I can remember) in the novel leads me to believe that Mary (the bookish sister in Pride and Prejudice) loved Mr. Collins ( the dorky cousin). Give me a line in the book that makes you believe that. It makes since. They are both foolishly serious and boring. You really had me confused with this question. Mr. Collins makes me think pride and prejudice, but Merry really though me off. She isn't one of the characters that I focused on so I didn't remember who she was. I almost told you that Mr. Collins married Charlotte, not someone named Merry. Good question.

I don't remember anything in the *book* Pride in Prejudice to indicate that bookish Mary is in love with Mr. Collins, but in the BBC miniseries (my favorite!) they certainly played it that way, didn't they? They did have a good deal in common.
