f you look at their base salary, they would be considered "Rich", but if you take into account the cost of living, they are mostly middle class, on the whole. For example, the average size of Japanese house is the size of lower class homes in the USA. A lot of apartments, are the size of dorm rooms, OR SMALLER, at two or three times the rent, depending on where the apartment is. So, in the end, it all evens out.
