Oh, gosh, thanks for the memory. "HEY, YOU GUYS!!!" Can't forget the ubby-dubby talk...I was in college before I found out how they did that. The first word I learned to spell was thanks to the Electric Company: "pie." Someone called the house for my mother, and I answered the phone shouting, "I can spell pie! P, I, E!"

The Electric Company was a PBS show that was designed to be a Sesame Street type show for older kids and young adults for whom English was a second language. It was designed to help those with limited English skills understand American dialects and culture.

I loved that show! Morgan Freeman as Easy Reader, wearing jeans, sunglasses and bellbottoms who can forget that? About 2 months ago, PBS had a special about the Electric Company and they were interviewing Rita Moreno.

I remember it. There was a short bit with Spider-Man and a guy named Crank. That's all I can remember. Oh! And Morgan Freeman played "Easy Reader".

Remember Letterman (not Dave) and the Spellbinder? Joan Rivers was the narrator!

Aww yeah. Everytime I think of Morgan Freeman on that show, it just trips me out. I actually liked it better than Sesame Street.

Faintly. Wasn't it an educational program ... something like Sesame Street, but, for older children?
