you are probably just fine. i was 1 month pregnant and did the same thing without knowing. i had a few wine coolers (strawberry kiwi:)), and some Bacardi at a party, and later found out i was pregnant. of course after i discovered, i quit, so do the same! but my son was born very healthy, a 10 pound bundle of joy! and he is 10 months now, and very advanced in his speech, already walking, and has not had 1 cold yet.

The most important thing is that you are honest with your doctor and let them know you had a drink or two. That way the doctor can keep a careful eye on the baby to make sure everything is developing ok. This is very common and many doctor's laugh and say that's how most pregnancies come to be. There is always a small chance of problems when things like this happen, but most likely everything will be fine. In most cases, earlier on the pregnancy alcohol will most likely end in miscarriage rather than fetal alcohol syndrome, but this isn't always the case. Since you are 7 months pregnant, most likely everything is fine and the baby is developing normally. I wouldn't worry about your size being a factor. We all carry our babies differently and in different positions. I have friends who are due around the same time I am and they are all concerned that my baby is too small (where in fact, it's just I carry her deeper inside than they do.) I honestly wouldn't stress about it, most likely everything will be fine. Some doctor's even recommend some alcohol, my cousin was told to drink a glass of wine every other day because she was having contractions early on. Good luck on your baby. I'm 25 weeks along and I just love being pregnant (once I got past the morning sickness.) I felt like I did everything wrong at the beginning of my pregnancy and was constantly thinking I was killing the baby. I was in quite a few hot tubs before I heard that it was bad for the baby, then I thought I had fried my baby.

I'm not a baby or health expert, but I took a course on Child Development which discussed this issue.

What most expecting mothers don't know is that a drink once in a while is ok, but because one woman's version "a drink" is very different from the next woman, doctors just say don't drink at all to avoid any disasters and confusion. You shouldn't have anything to worry about.

The first two weeks of formation are the MOST crucial because that is the development of the baby's brain and brain stem. They develop from the head down, and once the spine is formed, the organs begin forming. You were past this crucial point.

I would definitely keep in touch with the doctor. He may not see any brain damage now, so that is good. But it can never hurt to keep checking the baby.

Most importantly, RELAX :) Stress can do much more harm than a few drinks. Don't drink anymore, but just relax. Bad hormones from stress can affect the baby's health and temperament. Don't worry and trust the doctor. :)

If you have not drank anything else, everything is will probably be okay. I had drank (alot) 2 days before I found out I was pregnant and my baby came out perfect. 7.2oz healthy, the best acting baby and the happiest baby I and everyone around has seen. Just don't drink anymore and you are good to go. Just as long as you have regular ultrasounds. Good Luck and Congrats!

I went to a halloween party and had 4-5 drinks when I was about 3
weeks pregnant with my son. He's three and a half now, physically perfect, and reading at at least a first grade level.

so don't worry too much, that's not good for the baby, either.

It is no good to worry for you or the baby now. What is important now, is that you know not to continue to drink. I am sure you are not the first nor will you be the last caught with this concern. I am sure you will make a wonderful Mom because of the concern you show now. Best wishes for a healthy happy baby.

You'll be fine. Actually I'm 31 and English and when my mom was pregnant with me and my brother (twins) her doctor actually prescribed Guinness as she had a very low iron level. And we're fine. Also before I realized I was pregnant with my son I went on a tequila shot binge in South Padre. And he's an A student. Times and opinions change.

Nobody knows exactly how much alcohol hurts a fetus, the time you drink it can also be a factor. I wouldn't dwell on it because you've already had the drinks and worrying about it isnt healthy either. I drank befor I knew I was pregnant, many people do and have healthy babies. I do not however recommend it to anyone.

As long as you have not been drinking through your whole pregnancy there shouldn't be a problem. Obviously the sooner that you know that you are pregnant and quit drinking the better. If it was just that one time, no worries.

relax you are fine. you didn't even have that much to drink. I got totally wasted one night when I was about 7 weeks pregnant and I didn't know it yet and it did not hurt my baby.
