What types of punishments were done to former Arab leaders who were deposed? Was there any punishment? I was wondering if they ever recieved any punishment, or trial or if they recieved immediate death if they did not leave.

The Europeans did similar stuff at one time but I was just wondering if a trial was typical I have never heard of anyone being tried there before.

I was kind of looking for examples I just could not find any because I did not think Saddams was typical because I have never heard of a trial before they just seem to kill whomever asap found guilty off with your head or hand I guess?
I just could not find anything on the internet so I figured someone out here would know better than I do.
