is there any way to fix it.
i loaned it to my friend and she put it under the bed close to a heating vent. now the edge is a bit warped and i really want to fix it. it is the very large one, aproximately 3'x3'.

Bit warped not a lot warped?
Heat like she did then you might want to get something heaver then a few books. Try a 3 x 3 plywood and some concrete blocks. or a lot of C clamps.

Warm up the warped edge slowly then stack some books on it while it cools.

Try slowly pouring hot water on it to see if it will soften it. Keep pouring and then lay a flat object on it while it cools. Good luck.
