Basically, there are two kinds of fear: physical and psychological. Physical fear is much easier to understand; it arises naturally when there's physical danger--as in meeting a cobra snake or an aggressive dog, or someone threatens you with a knife, or something in the house catches on fire, and so on. It's just an instinct for self-preservation. But psychological fear is much more complex and difficult to comprehend. There is fear of failure and fear of rejection, as you have mentioned. But there are various levels of fear. A phobia is a strong, persistent fear of situations, objects, activities, or persons. The main symptom of this disorder is the excessive, unreasonable desire to avoid the feared subject. An example would be the fear of heights (acrophobia), fear of society or people in general (sociophobia), and fear of homosexuality or of becoming homosexual (homophobia). The list is long--really long! So I suggest that you go to the Wikipedia Dictionary or a similar site on line to get a more comprehensive list.

The six basic fears noted by Napoleon Hill in Think and Grow Rich are:
Fear of poverty
Fear of death
Fear of ill health
Fear of the loss of love
Fear of criticism
Fear of failure
That is, if I remember them all correctly. If you're looking for a list of all the phobias, well, you've got a more involved research project ahead of you.
