Maybe the American Citizen will be at peace with the people's judgements and not by the politicians after the election as it is in the scope of the popularity vote.

Or maybe, politicians are the scape goat of the events that have been going on?... A matter of hide and seek; and not a national utmost urgency.

Much as I would like to see America's involment in Iraq (and elsewhere) end immediately, as a former medic I have to acknowledge the troops that are there now. You can't just vote to bring them home, everybody can't just hop on the plane and leave. I am not in favor of increasing troop strength and I have been against this war since day 1. I agree that a referendum on the war now would say end it. I'm not so sure that would have been the case four year's ago rallman. Besides we are a representational democracy, meaning of course we have persons elected to make desisions for us. One presumes that the deciders, in possesion of the most and best facts will make the best choice EVEN IF THAT CHOICE IS CONTRARY TO THE OPINION OF THE MOB OR POLLS. I remember only one senator with the guts to stand up and say no when it mattered- Paul Wellstone, D, MN now deceased in a suspicious small plane crash. Deciding the war was a mistake and that we should get out is easy. The question is how to do it with the least consequnces for our troops there and the Iraqi people.
