The coin is for Franz II 1792-1835, who was Franz I Austrian Emperor from 1806-1835. They put Franciscvs I on his coins. The C on the coin stands for the Prague mint, then in Bohemia. As for denomination there should be a number at the bottom of the eagle at least on the smaller denomination, of course if you had listed the diameter it would have helped a lot. The following coins were issued in 1826 with the C on it. 1826-C 20 Kreuzer KM# 2144, 1826-C 1/2 Thaler KM# 2145, 1826-C Thaler KM# 2163. value will depend on grade and what denomination it is. I doubled check and think I got all the coins that were struck with the 1926-C and with the obverse and reverse you described. Hope this helps.

This is an Austrian coin of the Emperor Franz Joseph I. The date you gave may be in error,The reverse says the coin date. he wasn't born until 1830, so the date of 1826 may be an error.
You didn't mention if there are any other numbers on it, so it isn't going to be possible to tell the denomination. But here is a description from the website of Wikipedia of a 20 Kreutzer silver coin of that era. (There is a picture of this coin on that website, so you can compare if it is the same portrait). Here is the translation of the Latin inscription on the coin, and what the abbreviations mean.)
Silver coin of Franz Joseph I, 20 Kreuzers, dated 1868. The obverse Latin inscription reads, FRANC[IS] JOS[EPH] I D[EUS] G[RATIA] AVSTRIAE IMPERATOR, or in English, "Franz Joseph I, Emperor of Austria, Thanks Be to God." The reverse Latin inscription reads, LOD ILL[LYRIUM] REX A A 1868 HVNGAR[IA] BOHEM[IA] GAL[ICIA], or in English, "King of Illyrium, Austria, Hungary, Bohemia, and Galicia."]
Franz Joseph I (in Hungarian I. Ferenc József, in English Francis Joseph I) (August 18, 1830 – November 21, 1916) of the Habsburg Dynasty was Emperor of Austria, Apostolic King of Hungary and King of Bohemia from 1848 until 1916.
Good luck,

An Austrian coin
Actually, it is from Lombardy and Venetia (northern Italy), which was an Austrian possession 1814-59. It was minted during the reign of Emperor Franz (1792-1835).
