I used to make fabric covered photo albums for family and friends. Weddings, Babies, etc. and have not made one for a while because I wasn't sure if it would be received well since scrapbooking has boomed!
For those who may not know; A fabric covered album consists of cotton/poly batting. Different styles of fabric, beads, lace, cording and mini flowers can be used to decorate. They are usually tied shut with ribbon.
Another reason for this question is that I would like to be able to sell my albums for profit (either online or craft fairs) and would need to charge anywhere between $30.00-$60.00 and feel that people would not appreciate the time and effort it took to make the album and not be interested...

I think it will ALL depend on the fabrics you choose. In past years, many fabric albums were made with old floral fabric and although that might be fine for older women, they weren't very exciting.
If you were to make album covers in Disney fabric, kids tv characters prints, leopard, fur/faux, those could be in high demand. You could test the waters by making a couple to sell on ebay and yahoo auctions.

you can still make albums with fabric, it will come out more personal than just buying one from the store.
you can even make a recipe book with fabric, batting, 3 ring binder, and report covers (plastic sleeve things) that way you can make the font of the typed recipe as big as you need and with the plastic covers over the pages, you don't have to worry about getting recipe ingredients all over it. i made one for my stepmom with leopard print fabric
