She cannot marry him UNLESS her parents give their consent. So if her parents agree to it she can.

She could get married. Each state has their own laws on marriage. In New York if your 16-17 you need parental consent. "If you are either 14/15 years of age, you need parental consents from both parents and a justice of the Supreme Court or a judge of the local Family Court." If she could get that she can get married.

Even do he is 18 and she is 14, and it is illegal if they are having sex(it is consider a rape) once they get married this is banished and they should have no problem. The difficult part is getting a judge to agree.

I will tell your friend to wait a little longer and see how it goes first. Try not to speed things up, marriage is a very important and complicated step that required a lot of maturity and a stable job. Even if she thinks that she is ready for it, she and her boyfriend might not be mentally prepared. I will wait a couple more years and hey the process is even easier if she does. If the guy loves her he will wait. Trust me ;-)

In New York the youngest age is 13 for a female with parental consent and permission from a judge:

What is the age with parental consent in New York?

Male: 16 – below age of consent parties need parental consent and permission of judge, no younger than 14 for males and 13 for females.

Female: 16 – below age of consent parties need parental consent and permission of judge, no younger than 14 for males and 13 for females.

Imagine being a grandmother at 26.

A 14-year-old can marry in NY if they have both parental consent and court approval. But trust me, judges are not chomping at the bit to approve marriages for 14-year-old KIDS.

By the way, I hope your friend and her boyfriend aren’t doing anything beyond DATING, because if they are, that’s illegal, and it’s a very serious offense.

I don't know if it's true or not, but in most states if the girl is under 18 she needs her parent's permission. They would have to sign a paper saying they permit her to be married.

Who the heck would want to marry at 14? Are you sure she is from NY? Sounds like some toothless, barefoot bumpkin from a redneck state.

She is not old enough to do that. She should be studying at this period and not thinking about marraige. She is not matured enough to do that. She is still growing up...
And in any country no one can marry before 16

I think the youngest of any state is 16, and that is with parental consent. But I am not 100 % on that, but pretty close.
