I'm going to be so sad to see Coach Cowher go. So, who do you think will get the job and why? Who do you think should get the job and why? And then a prediction---how will the Steelers do under a new coach next year?

i'm thinking whisenhunt will get the job, and i think he should. of course that is granted he doesn't get offered/take a job with the falcons. the steelers will do fine regardless of what happens. i do have this to say, i thought cowher would leave but a small part of me hoped that regardless of the obvious proof he was leaving, some how he would make the decision to stay..... this kinda sucks.

I'd have to agree with the sentiment that the Steelers are going to be looking within the organization. That being said, now that there are 5 openings (with Shell gone, the Raiders join the Steelers, Falcons, Dolphins, and Cardinals in looking for a coach) it's going to be tough to hold on to Ken Whisenhunt or Russ Grimm. In fact, Whisenhunt and Grimm both have permission to interview with other teams.

They will give the job to a Steelers Guy? They have historically stayed in house on all coaching decisions just like the Celtics used to do

Russ Grim, a local guy, the Rooney Family seem to like guys with roots in Pittsburgh.

I think they will try to get someone already on the staff.The offensive and defensive coordinators have both been interviewed by other teams and I dont think they want them both hired away.
