Start with ending & paying for a useless war & start universal
health care.
If everyone had access to health care, small infections could
be stopped before they turned into a major health crisis.
Many contagious diseases, from bacteria or viruses could
be stopped before they spread.
It would be very financial beneficial to treat one person, than many.
This could improve the health, well being & play a huge part
in alleviating stress - another factor that plays a big part
in one's health.
Here's another thought - take away the "entitlement" these
politicians have to vote themselves a raise every 4 months,
& we'd most likely, have lots of tax money for it.

The US is not likely to adopt Universal Healthcare, otherwise known as Socialized Medicine.
In Canada, we are obligated to buy health insurance from our province. If we don't, and we get in an accident, we get a huge bill. Almost everyone buys into the health insurance, and your medical number becomes another form of ID.
The idea that there is always a long wait for healthcare is not exactly true: appointments at doctor's offices aren't any different, and emergency procedures are immediate. But there can be a wait for mundane procedures, no doubt about it. There are private clinics springing up for those who don't want to wait and are willing to pay the big bucks.
If the government in the US deems it too socialist to become involved in regulating health insurance, then I guess US citizens won't be seeing affordable healthcare anytime soon.

Health care should be something that everyone can access, but people should also be held accountable for their health issues. I believe everyone should have access to doctors, medical care and health education programs. SO- I would fund a national health program with multiple approaches.
Since so many health issues have deep-seated roots in diet, sedentary lifestyle, smoking and stress, prevention must also be addressed in addition to detection and treatment of disease.
I think health education should be a much bigger part of all school programs starting in preschool and including higher ed. I also think exercise programs for retired people should be accessible and affordable.
People who abuse the health care system should have more restraints and limits exercised to reduce the cost burden they put on the system as a whole. I am talking about people who are on methadone for years, when it's meant as a replacement that is easier to wean from in opioid addiction, or morbidly obese who refuse to institute lifestyle changes. The use of many expensive medications can be avoided in therapeutic lifestyle changes such as the DASH diet.
I have been working in public health since 1973 and I have seen money and ideas thrown at health issues , and yet not a lot of progress has been made in some areas. Outcomes-based planning and evidence based medicine is the way to go in terms of goal setting, but community levels must be involved in order to preperly effect change.
The question, to me, is not what do you think is a solution, but WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO DO ABOUT IT?

i do not understand what the republican plan. inspite of the indisputable fact that this is been a lengthy time period considering we had a "loose market" device. there change right into a time even as insurance really paid for catastrophic activities. accepted, undemanding stuff change into paid for out of pocket. maximum docs accrued their fee earlier they suggested you. the costs were actual looking. imagine about this. With beauty surgical operation, lasik eye surgical operation, and different techniques that insurance would not hide the costs on those techniques is going down, not up like each little thing else. Sailorjohn, i'm getting $2 hundred per week taken out of my paycheck for well being care insurance rates. it truly is 25% of my complete pay.

Most countries have free health care, the USA gives them enough money to pay for it. And they don't have waiting lists either. You can get right in. I have health care and I have to wait a few days to a few weeks to be seen, and I live in the USA.

Where did you come up with that figure. That is just liberal propaganda. We have the best health care in the world. You just want health care to be socialized. If that happens and it wont here in the US then you will really have a something to complain about. Look at Canada. Universal health care and those people are coming here for medical care. Those people have to wait for weeks for service; My solution would be for people like you to go to a communist country where plans like yours don't work so you can see for yourself.

my plan... straight forward and simple...
do it just like the schools, public for everyone, private if you want it... you can have private medical facilities if you want... but you have to pay for that yourself...
but the public has access to public facilities that probably aren't quite as good... but are much better than nothing...
the thing I don't get is... apparently Republicans either never have health problems... or don't pay for their insurance... because if you pay for your own... you clearly see the system is way beyond out of control...
that much is painfully obvious...
everyone that I know that actually has been to the hospital... and actually USED the system... doesn't have good things to say about it... ESPECIALLY when the bill arrives...

Health care problem? You mean the inevitable and entropic spiral of mankind which medical science (admirably) tries to abate and at the same time (unadmirably) rake in enormous profits from?
Frankly, I don't too much care. One thing I hear about socialized medicine which has already been referred to is that the bureaucracy is NO FUN. Lines are loooooong at times, and you don't get to choose your doctor, etc etc.
And, frankly, people have forgotten about quality-of-life and are more concered with staying alive at all costs, it would seem. For me, pull the plug. Let me go Home.

I think that we should have a health plan like Canada, I would be willing to pay higher taxes if everyone could have health insurance.
