I tried one Mac with the office server via remote webmail, but Outlook's features were severely compromised. Is there an effective way around this? Thanks in advance.

Office 2004 for Mac has Entourage, Microsoft's e-mail program for Mac, which fully supports Exchange Server.

You can, of course, use any e-mail client that supports POP / IMAP (depending how your Exchange server is set up) and SMTP with Exchange, including Apple Mail and Mozilla's Thunderbird, in addition to Entourage. You just won't get the benefits of shared calendars, public folders, etc. that come with Outlook / Entourage.

Hello Stieglitz,

I got Office 2004 for the Mac at my work, which includes Entourage that works better than how the old Mac version of Outlook works. Look into Microsoft's MacTopia here:

I've also heard that Apple's own Mail program now works with MS Exchange Servers, but never tried it. Entourage worked pretty easily.

No that is what MS does, makes only their webserver work with their OS. Or they make a crappy port for the mac and dont update it for 4 years. They are a monopoly. Macs are really great, and I Think the benefits of it outweigh looking at your calender, and address book. Tell your office to get something that works with all computers. My company scrapped all of their windows boxes to go to mac, and it has been the best thing ever. Our servers run all open source apps, and we are a large enterprise.

Not really. You have to wait for Microsoft to release another version of Office for Mac.
