Would the top surface of mercury in a glass container be the same shape as the top surface of water in a similar container? Give the reason for your answers.

The "top surface" is called the meniscus. With water, the edges curve up because of capillary action. But mercury curves down because it has a relatively high viscosity.

I will say no, and physics say the same
Hg atoms are connected to each other far stronger than to glass .
this is the reverse situation of water.
