Why Republicans refused to vote "YES" for a Rules & Ethics Package? Are they afraid of losing the lobby money

All that the Congressional Quartery Update on Rules & Ethics Package change asked for were

1. Ban on gift by lobbyist

2. Ban use of Corporatoin Jets = Enron and Bush

Others!!!

I had always thought that the GOP = Christian Conservatives = Ethic and morals

but I guess GOP = Closet Abramoff and Foley

Actually it is not just the Republicans that refuse to vote YES for new Rules and Ethics. All politicians are enjoying living off of the fat of us middle class. What we need is to limit politicians to no more than 2 terms in any one elected position and no more than 4 total in a life time. This means that the Kennedy's will no longer live off of our hard work among others. What is really broken is that when the Constitution was started, Congress was suppose to be filled by part-time politicians not full time politicians that are more worried about looking good than doing what needs to be done.

Your opinion however, is ill founded and smacks of naive natay. Both parties are equally guilty of graft, corruption, and self interest. They all have misused the public trust as given by god some special status in life. They no longer serve the interest of the people of this great county, only their own. As Winston Churchill once stated "democary is the worst form of government.......except for all others." All have and will continued to consipere to further their self interest. Clearly we should be asking ourselves of a much deeper and legitmate question. Why don't we have another choice. To work with politicians is like making sausage....not very pretty. Now tell the rest of the story! Nice spin! Why did you fail to mention parts of the ethics package were voted on earlier this year, and the Democrats voted no? Why did you neglect to say the reason the Republicans voted against it, is because they will have no input the way it was written?
