If the pants haven't been washed...

A home-made remedy is to sprinkle a good portion of conrnstarch or baking soda over the stainand keep rubbing it in for a minute or so.

The flour-y-ness soaks up the grease and then washes out. Weird, I know but I swear it has worked for me.

If you've already washed the pants,

My favorite is Oxyclean in any form. I can't live without the stuff. Its taken out bacon stains on a washable silk shirt that I have.

try taking a cheese cloth or very thin cloth and placing it over the stain and then ironing it (with no steam)then move the cloth around to a clean area and repeat ironing until all grease is gone from pants. The heat makes the grease loosen up, and absorb into the cloth or towel. It can be time consuming if the stain is large, but keep it up and it should eventually lift it all up. Good luck!

If the pants have not been laundered, there is a great product line called "Stain Devils" (they are in small yellow bottles in the laundry aisle in the grocery store) find the one for 'oil and/or grease' treat with the product and wash as usual. Check the pants after washing them before putting them in the dryer - once you put a garment in the dryer when it still has a stain, the dryer will permanently bake the stain in the garment! Try the stain treatment once, after washing them, check ths stain and if its still there, try washing again before putting them in the dryer.
Good Luck!

I've gotten light grease stains out of clothing just by using Shout. Wet the spot with hot water first, spray the Shout on it, rub it in and then wait a while. Rinse with hot water, then wash on regular cycle. This has worked well for my toddler's clothing--she gets into everything. Good luck!

Rule of thumb, if it's grease it will be removed by grease,as long as you pre-treat before you wash. If you wash it first and dry it ,what you are doing is permanently setting it in. And for goodness sake DO NOT USE BLEACH. WD40 will work or any other degreaser. Just rub in, let sit for awhile, then rinse, use some detergent (tide) rub again, then throw in the wash. It should come out.

It may not come out. You could try one of 2 products on the market that say they will get out set in stains. One I have used and it HAS gotten them out is ZOUT. Available most any grocery, wal-mart type store or De-solve-it. Buy at same places.(Haven't tried this one tho)
