I have a hard time talking to my freinds and they get really bored and leave probably because I don't know what to say and I stay quiet for a while. Then they are quiet to me. I am not a hyper person but I wish I can make a better conversation and have the right questions to ask, how to not stay slient, bring enthusiasm, be positive, entertain the person, what to talk about, etc... Usually they talk to me and then I am boring and then they think am always boring. Because I am usually hyper, I don't act hyper, because the first time I meet someone knew I cannot be hyper (like I usually am), but I am shy. Sorry for the run on sentences... (*-*) ahhhhh! please help me... :)

Ask people questions. Nobody is more interesting than someone interested in you.

What has helped many people just like you is taking a course(this is for real and has a high success rate) in public speaking for in order to accomplish this one has to overcome shyness and also have interesting to the people you spend time with things to say. In order to be knowledgeable about whats happening around you ,what movies are playing and are popular as well as new music releases and so much more -Read the Daily Newspaper for it is full of interesting info from World News to the latest Movie Reviews. Also the Home page like Yahoo or MSN has info click on the them and read the info. Then when Your friends come over, remember they are your friends who will acccpt, have accepted you and why they come to see you. Not coming to judge you and then listen to what they start to talk about and join in.The important thing is that you be interested in them which usually means you will talk to them-see how they are doing, whats happening in their lives, their jobs(if they work) and so on. Everyone usually likes music -talk about some of the groups, latest CD release and the same with movies. Or talk about whats happenijng at school or your job. The public speaking course you'll find in the Yellow pages and well worth checking into for it will teach you conversation openers and how to keep it going but first it teaches self-confidence(one reason for being shy is not having enough belief that whatever you say will be listened to and not ridiculed)teaches you also how to feel at ease with yourself and in the company of others.Try it for you have so much to gain and nothing to lose by checking into it.

well i not really good at this, but i think you should at least try to think of a conversatiton like how was your christmas or new years. Or have a sleep over and get to know what they like to talk about so you have idea over things or just go find new friends that don't think your conversations is boring. i could even be your friend on the computer, you don't seem so boring heres my email address, arimayswilliams@yahoo.com and my name is ariel

For me to stay focused and interested, I ask people to tell me stories of when they were kids. I love to hear people talk about their funny childhood adventures or the sad moments. I also think its great when people just ask me to remember a funny tale from my past or to make up a story.

If you bring up a subject that interests you, I bet you don't run into this problem.

You don't have to have something to contribute on every subject, its okay to be silent or less than excited about some topics.

I don't know much about...anything lol, but I think maybe you need to stop worrying about what others think of you. Sounds cheesy, but don't worry about reputations. If they ignore you and think that they're better than you, maybe they aren't real, legit friends after all... WOW, I sound like Dr. Phil. bleh...
