He thinks there's some kind of timeframe after birth where if you don't want the baby, you can "return it"; you can take it to a fire station/police station...give it to the hospital, all free and clear. This doesn't sound legal to me. I'm fairly sure there has to be some kind of paper work involved, right?

I think it's legal to give up your husband if you suddenly realize HE'S deformed.

If for some reason you do not want your baby there is a thing called safe baby drop zones, and you can give them up no questions asked and be in the clear. It is better to do that, then cause harm to the baby. These places are usually police stations, fire stations or hospitals.

I hope that you love your baby no matter what, because they are a little person that needs it, but if you don't then do the right thing.

Well in the state of California unfortunatly 4u that is true its called something like the dont ask dont tell law... or something like that an u have up to 72 hrs to turn ur baby over to a police station or a fire station wit no questions asked it has saved alot of babies lives last year... But just bcuz the baby is deformed doenst mean u should give it up that just makes it easier to love the baby and u will get a state check to help u assist the child with special needs.

No.
No matter what the reason, if you have a baby and don't want it you can either leave it at the hospital, or take it to a fire station or police station or, any hospital. It's completely legal and can even be confidential.

It was made to stop people from dumping babies into dumpsters and things.

You can take your baby to any fire station, hospital or police station - no questions asked , if you feel you cant care for the child....older children you might have to make an appointment with child services and there would be paperwork involved in terminating your parental rights. In both cases its just a matter of if you cant care for the child, not because it came out deformed or even ugly! Its an easier alternative for a parent who may potentialy harm their child.

As sad as it is it is true. A parent can leave their baby at a hospital or fire/police station if they don't want the baby for what ever reason.. I don't know why anyone would want to do this to their baby just because he/she did not turn out the way they wanted him/her to be. I am a mother of a special needs child and love my son to death and I am willing to take more special needs children if their parents don't want them. I would love them just like my own and make sure they have a safe home, food and medical care.. This is a sad world anymore when parents don't even care about their own children and throw them away like trash. If you don't want the baby give me the baby I will love it no matter what...

You can. There are laws allowing for this in every state. You don't have to just drop it off on the step. You can hand your baby over to anyone in the firedept, police, and I believe the Hospital. There is no paperwork. If you want to be sure about the time frame, call the firedept. It's not illegal to ASK. It's not immoral to know that you can't take care of a baby with special needs. It's also not anyone else's choice but your own.

You can give up any baby for adoption; some states have laws that allow you to take an unwanted infant (deformed or not) to a hospital, fire station, police station, etc. to surrender it. You will still have to fill out forms signing away custody (probably to the state).

I hope for your sake that you're not pregnant. Hubby doesn't sound ready for fatherhood.

girl if this is the kinda man you're with then you need you're head checked.to even say that about a child is sick.THERE IS NO REFUNDS FOR CHILDREN!and if he wants to 'give the baby back' then why make a baby in the first place?i hope you as the mother do not think this way as well do you.......?i really hope not.and if he do not want the baby then you raise the child and if you do not want the baby either then put the poor soul up for adoption, there are people out there who are willing to raise a baby as their own NO MATTER what he/she looks like.i'm sorry, but for someone to think that kind of thing and to even just say it makes me sick.and sorry if i'm being blunt but if this is the way that you guys would talk about a baby just because they may not be perfect in you're eyes, then maybe you shouldn't have kids.think about that and what you are sayin before you ask a sick and ...... well.......i can't even say the word.

Yes, you can leave your child at a HOSPITAL with absolutely no questions asked. It is completely legal. I would suggest looking into giving your child up for adoption though because later on in life you will always wonder what happened to your baby. If you are not ready to be a parent than please give your child to a family who will give all of their love to the baby.

Odd as it sounds, your husband is actually correct. The reason behind it is that if a mother doesn't want her baby, she has the option of leaving it annonymously without legal repercussions, rather than killing it or putting it in a dumpster. But, reguardless, it is true and your husband is correct.
