They are like white vitamin pills. Does it have something to do with cold sores?

helps cold sores. big doses to speed healing of an existing cold sore. smaller daily dose to prevent.

They help dry up a cold sore by going into the nerve where the cold sore virus hides. Zinc also works on cold sores because the virus can't grow in it's presence.

Yes, they are vitamins that work great for preventing cold sores and fever blisters, if you take them when you feel one coming on a lot of times, it doesn't even show up. If you take them after a cold sore appears, it doesn't get as bad.
