"Learn when to cut your losses" was one of the best bits of advice I ever had given to me.

But exactly WHEN one should give up is the Rub.
Too soon and you are going to be a failure. Too late and you waste
time and money.

It's a bit of a problem actually......

It's like that old saying, "try, try again"! If you don't get something the first time then you keep going until you do because at some point your bound to get whatever it is your after...... but if your like me and you fail a thousand times then give yourself a break and go back at it at a later time!

I guess that would depends on what your giving up on, some things can't be giving up on.

If it's just something your interested in maybe it would help to stand back and look at it from a different perspective, that helps me a lot of time to notice things I wouldn't normally.

even as requested why he failed a one thousand cases to make a lightbulb! edison spoke back "i in no way failed, i realized a one thousand techniques how now to not make a lightbulb" i attempt to take a similar philosophy on my countless quest in affairs of the middle. even as will i stop? in no way, i might want to quite study 10,000 cases how now to not love! :0)

It all depends how bad you want what you're trying to accomplish, and if you are doing the "thing" for yourself or for someone else.
