I found that in order to choose the best horse you love, the following suggesstion is valuable:
1,Make sure you really want a horse. Whether it is for riding on the trails, showing, or just as a pasture pet, be sure you can make the commitment.
2,Learn all you can about horse management, including what vaccines and deworming he or she will need depending on your geographical location, common horse ailments and cures, and feeding.
3, Take the time to learn about your local resources. What areas are zoned for keeping horses?
4, Figure out how you are going to pay for your horse, as well as some basic equipment and first month's board, and so on.
5,Figure out the logistics: visit a number of boarding facilities and ask about hours, the cost, feeding schedule, as well as what you'll be expected to do. # Make a list of what you want the horse to be. This can include, size, gender, age, health, training, colour, price, breed, and pedigree.
6, Tell people that you are looking for a horse.
7, Advertise the fact you are looking for a horse.
8, Look to for sale ads in local tack shops, vet clinics, local and national horse magazines, and the Internet.
such as : http://horsefaq.org/ask, which offers wonderful information on horse; you can trust it.

Get one that is good with people, well socialized, and most importantly is good with you and your family.I've been wanting a horse for a long time and if ever DO get a horse I would probably get a Morgan horse, the are GREAT family horses and are usually well socialized.
-Good Luck!Nadia A.

i would say if you want a horse find a trainer that can find you a good horse instead of doing it on your own. if you do find a horse make sure you try it before you buy it. and when you do try it make sure its eyes aren't almost shut and he looks like hes about to fall asleep (he could be drugged)

I agree that it is best to take your time and invest wisely. You may not always be successful, but if your heart and head agree on a horse, you probaly have made a good decision.
