My baby is ten months old and still not trying to crawl. He was a month early so he is suppose to be about two months behind in development. Could he just be lazy or should I be concerned?

Most babies learn to crawl between the ages of 6 and 10 months. Your baby may opt for another method of locomotion around this time, though — like bottom shuffling (scooting around on his bottom, using a hand behind and a foot in front to propel himself), slithering on his stomach, or rolling across the room. Some babies skip crawling altogether and move directly to pulling up, standing, and walking. Since the "Back to Sleep" campaign was initiated in 1994, more babies seem to be crawling later or skipping it completely. (The campaign aims to reduce the risk of SIDS by encouraging parents to put babies to sleep on their back.) Don't worry about his style; it's getting mobile that's important, no matter how your baby does it.

That one answer was real rude.

If he was born early then he is probably just right where he needs to be.
try have more tummy time with him and placing toys on the floor about a foot and a half in front of your baby. He might suprise you and start going for those toys! You could try his bottle to.

Remember, all babies are different and some babies skip he crawling stage. He could start walking and not even crawl at all.

As long as he is doing other things normally for being a bit early, then you shouldnt be to concerned.

Many babies do not crawl. Crawling is not a developmental milestone.

Also it doesn't so much matter *what* your baby is doing, but that he is doing new things and old things better. Every week on Sunday (or whatever) sit down and write down what he did new this week, and what he is doing better. On the first of each month take a little time to go back over the month.

So long as he is doing new things and getting stronger leave him be!

All babies are different and develop at different times which means doing things at different times. I wouldn't be concerned. My son never crawled just skipped that stage and went right to walking. Just be patient everything will happen at there right time. God bless.

does he sit up? if he doesn't sit on his own i would be concerned. but if he does i think he is fine, i read somewhere that some babies skip the crawling phase and go straight to trying to learn how to walk. (baby talk magazine)

just sit with him on the floor and place toys out of reach so that way he can try getting it. just don't place the toy too far.

Don't worry! He's on schedule.

Babies start at different times, and the fact he was early delays him a bit.

IF he's doing everything else on schedule, I wouldn't worry.

Just put a blanket down on the floor and let him have a little more "tummy time"..

i offered it for Aiden for his first birthday (so needless to say he replaced into 3 hundred and sixty 5 days). It got here with one game, and then i offered 2 extra. I hooked it up the night of his birthday.. the console lights up an exceedingly distinctly blue while the device is became out. And that replaced into distinctly lots the only element that stored my son's interest. He stored turning it on and stale, guffawing on the sunshine. The padding around the controller comes off way too actual. that is only velcroed on there. Aiden replaced into entertained with that for slightly - pulling it off.. sticking it decrease back on.. pulling it off.. sticking it decrease back on.. etc. The controller may well be used on that is very own. It makes sounds once you push the buttons. Aiden in no way cared for this in any respect. He in no way as quickly as used it jointly with the television. in undemanding terms performed with the distant while it replaced into positioned on the "play without television" (or despite that is called) selection. and then after a pair of week, he did not even care approximately that. i attempted for months, randomly turning it on and pushing buttons on the distant to tutor him the way it interacted with the television.. and he in no way cared for it. =/ So i eventually packed it decrease back up a pair of month in the past. So he had approximately 6 months of it being out. and not as quickly as did he ever care approximately it. the different element i did not like approximately it.. of direction the distant is going to run on batteries.. however the console does too. you will possibly desire to purchase the AC adaptor seperately. and of direction the photos are terrible. yet additionally on a number of the video games, it replaced into puzzling to appreciate what replaced into being pronounced because of the fact the sound high quality replaced into undesirable too. I had paid $50 for it.. and for us, it replaced right into a waste. =/ I want I had spent it on some thing else. *monkey*
