I want to fix this so it can be benificial to everyone..

I dont want to ban the guilty parties, one is the site co-owner, and one is the most active person on the forum behind myself, and has root privilages (He can edit the site with my permition)

How do I deal with it, Its the third time this has happened, I cant ban my two most active people, one of which does 99% of the coding to make the site run..

Last time it happened we lost a member caught in the crossfire..

Whats happening, is that I own the debate forum, and one of my members is in the process of quitting drugs, he's having a hard time with withdrawl, the other person made a thread saying suicide is pathetic etc, I wasnt there before the suicidal member to delete the thread, the forum erupted into drama..

These two members have been at it before..How do i fix the situation without banning them..

The one that posted something about suicide should be banned regardless because that's not right now matter how much he/she is on

Unfortunately, they are 2 people who will always fight and find reasons to fight. I suggest you take away the active one's privileges, you can't take the co owner's away and still have them as co owner. Go back and really see who starts the fights and talk to them privately, give them both a last chance warning.
I know coding is tough but you might consider replacing them with someone who doesn't fight all the time. Remember sooner or later they may cost you your debate forum and get you shut down by the provider.

hmmm...I'd call a truce for them, tell them they don't have ot like each other, but the debate seems to have moved to a personal playing field, and this is not acceptable for any memeber, even the two most active members...it's okay to agree to disagree sometimes :) Sometimes debates become circular, and a truce is needed...and perhaps something so personal isn't a good thread.

You can consider a temporary suspension for the person who started the suicide is pathetic thread. That doesn't sound like civil debate.
