It was recently recommended that I download a free adware removal filter. Where do I find a site that offers this? I’ve checked out a couple, but I am not knowledgeable enough to know which downloads are truly safe and truly free.

Lavasoft Adaware and Spybot Search & Destroy are both excellent adware removal program.s They're easy to use and have free versions for personal use. You can use one or the other, or both since one program might catch junk on your computer that the other misses.
