If you're done with the antibiotics you should at least get checked to see if it's gone. Cranberries are supposed to be great at keeping away UTIs. Take a super concentrated cranberry supplement. I say supplement because cranberry juice usually has more sugar than cranberry juice. Also, with all those antibiotics you might want to take acidopholus or eat yogurt to get some of that good bacteria back in your body. Remember... front to back.

How many days have you been on Cipro? If its been more than two or three, go back to the doctor. Buy Urostat from the store to help with pain (great pain reliver, but does not get rid of infection) and drink plenty of water and cranberry juice. No caffiene for a few days, that just aggrevates them. If the UTI is not better in the next several days, go back to your doctor and have him do a culture to make sure the strain of bacteria causing the infection is not resistant to the medicine they have you on. There are a lot of different strains, and some medicines work wonderfully for some but not others. The doctor finally but me on macrobid, which is some knock you out strong medicine. Good luck and feel better. (Oh, make sure you take the full prescription of medicine, don't just stop cause it feels better.)

Cepro is a very strong antibiotic. You should allow the medicine to take its course. Not everyone can take this medicine because it is so strong. It is designed to make the cause worse, and attacks the infection once it has placed another infection within. However, my body has allergic reactions to Cepro, and this could be a problem. You may want to contact your doctor immediately about this matter. Generally Bactrim is the best drug for a UTI, and I took a seven day dose to cure, and it was gone by the fifth day. Good Luck- Call your doctor.

Yes, you should go see a doctor again. If you took both antibiotics and nothing worked, either the bacteria you have is highly resistant, or it is not a bacteria at all (might be yeast, although rare)
They should take cultures on your urine and maybe blood, depending on the symptoms, to identify the exact germ you have and what antibiotics is it resistant to.
If you have frequent or hard to cure UTIS, or have been taking antibiotics for other causes for long, you might want to get checked throughly by an especialist
Finally, if you have any disconfort in your vaginal area or while having sex, you should see a gyno. It might be a yeast infection or some kind of std. get checked. good luck.

there is some guess work involved when doctors prescribe medicine for UTI's because different types of bacteria can cause them and different antibiotics work only on certain types of bacteria. i know cipro kills e.coli which is responsible for most UTI's and I've taken it and it works great. maybe they just put you on a tiny dosage to start out with in case you didnt need all the strong antibiotics. no worries though youll be fine. feel better!!!

CIPRO works awesome. it is one of the strongest antibiotics out there. give it a few days to work. it will... if it is just a UTI, there isnt really anything the doc can do, and I cant think of anything stronger than Cipro that they would prescribe you for a UTI, let it run its course. good luck
