Mostly the French Constitution with some ideas from the British Charter of Rights. Some of the ideas were home grown.

Actually the Federal government, and the US Constitution, were modeled after the Iroqouis Nation whose loosely allied tribes were remarkably similar to the government proposed in the constitution.
