Thanks a bunch

The embedded windows media, the ad below it, and the box above it that says "some features may not work..." all extend past my browser window to the right. My browser window is set to 1063 wide.

It does this in Firefox 2, Internet Explorer 7, and Opera 9, which are the three main browsers.

I'm running WinXP SP2.

Ok look, I did this stuff a while back and here are a few tips. The standard is to design a website for medium text using 800x600 resolution. You website is too small for 1024x768 and too big for 800x600. Make it a bit smaller. Why is that audio clip there? If you still want it, then either embed it (so that it plays in the background hiddenin the page) or put it at the very bottom. Don't put it on the right side because we can't see it. Also, the default setting should be quiet and let the viewer choose if they want to listen to it or not. There are plenty of other players out there which are much smaller. The windows media player window is just too big for a web page like this. If you want to get even more fancy, then you can insert a java script which will first determine the resolution that the user has and then redirect the person to the page corresponding to their current resolution. So if you have two different pages, one designed for 800x600 and another for 1024x768, and I visit your website, the java script will run on my computer, determine my current resolution and show up the page which I should be looking at.

If you want to make only one page, then design it for 800x600.

I am running IE 7 on Vista and agree that the page is too wide. You want to develop it so someone running 800x600 - there are a lot of people still running older hardware that cannot support smaller resolutions.

I also agree you don't want sound when someone goes to a page. I personally find it annoying. What if someone is looking at it during work hours - it will give them away ;)

I also had empty boxes with subjects. You also want to name each page as right now it shows "index".

Good luck & have fun!

I could not see it all at once the section with the advertising word in is not there until you use the arrow on the bottom of the screen. I saw the edge of it when my sidebar was closed but when open I did not see it at all...

its plain, the large boxes are blank. and i was scared the voice playing was going to be unnessary. good idea, but take down the voice that starts, it will deter people. good set up though
