what do you think? agree? disagree? criticism?

1) you will never be independent. children are dependent on their guardians to protect them from reality in order to constantly maintain their innocence. as an adult, you will still be dependent on someone to protect you, and you will never become independent.
2) you won't establish your own values. innocence means lack of experience; you're always following other rules, but you haven't had enough realistic experience to establish your own indiviual morals according to what you have learned from experience. you will always follow rules according to secondhand experience (what someone tells you) and not firsthand (according to what you have learned yourself).

3). you will be unaware of evil, and hence incapable of avoiding it. this is fine if you have someone to protect you from it, but as adults you will be often thrust into this. You will be unassuming and too ignorant to live in the real world without being hurt.

I don't think that we should remain children forever, but I think that a certain amount of childlike innocence is healthy. Children are playful and use their creativity and imagination all the time. They're not self-conscious and don't care if they're wearing pink with yellow. Children laugh and smile like 15 times more than adults.

It's all in moderation. You don't want to be too adult-like, and you don't want to be too child-like.
