It was likely removed because there are many minors here and trolls...however it's not Y!Answer's job to counsel or suggest help for such a person, but how do you know they didn't? I have no idea myself how they handle such things, but I agree that a question/post from someone threatening suicide doesn't belong here.

I saw a question like the one you describe, and think it was deleted because some of the answerers were encouraging him to do it, and even suggesting ways to do it without much chance of "failure".
It would be major bad press is somebody came on here, suicidal, and the reponses he gets drive him over the edge...

I think it's in the rules, read the terms of service. how you know yahoo removed it, maybe the guy removed it himself, question has been removed doesn't mean yahoo did it. it only means they could have, i have removed my own questions before when i wasn't getting sincere answers.

Probably some dumb bunny objected and Yahoo automatically removed it without really considering it.

He probably got reported for abuse, maybe there was a good reason maybe not. Ask Yahoo Answers themselves why. Or he deleted the question himself.

because, to give advise in a paper, you have to be liscensed, and if they leave a question like that on here, somebody could say things like "do it" or something else that could make him kill himself. And then, somebody on here who told him to go ahead, might get arrestted or something. They probably notified the police about it or gave him a hotline via email.

These are the people who brought us--the now defunct--Yahoo! message boards, filled with racism, hate, sexism, and political bullying, which took them years to attempt to fix. Go figure.
