I have been smoking now for 24 years. I want to quit so bad. I woke up yesterday morning and was so disgusted with the taste in my mouth I decided I did not want it anymore. Even though I had a carton sitting right in front of me. I did so good for the whole day. I almost made the 24 hour mark. But I gave in last night to this disgusting thing that has control of me. I don't have any physical withdrawals, it is the mind. It was driving me crazy. I am also trying to lose about 40 lbs and I am afraid that if I quit I will gain more weight. So I thought that I would lose the weight first then quit. But I think killing two birds with one stone would be better. Instead of being miserable twice, why not try both at the same time.

Please does anyone have some REAL suggestions for me? Maybe something that worked for you? Thank you for your time and Happy New Year to you all.

Wellbutrin (zyban) and chantix are the two current pharmacological agents to help with smoking cessation. Both result in less weight gain than placebo - however the best thing you can do is take this opportunity to change your entire lifestyle. Replace your addiction to nicotine with activities that produce natural amphetamines, like exercising. During the initial stages you must work on redirection and distracting yourself from thinking about cigarettes, try one of the smoking hot lines. Like 1-800-QUIT NOW. They provide free telephone counseling.

Good Luck

As soon as you get out of the bed go pee and brush your teeth. Take your measurements. Measure chest, waist, hips, each arm, each thigh, and butt. Write it down. Next thing is do a work out. Do 30 minutes of anything at all, just move. Go walking or jogging or running or do some crunches and jump rope or jumping jacks, it doesn't matter, just move and breathe deep. It will really help with the morning craving. Shower and get ready for the day. Keep a food journal. Write down everything that passes your lips. If you have 5 grains of rice then put it down in the journal. Leave nothing out. Do that for a few days, you will be amazed at how much you eat. Start paring it down. You got fat one bite at a time, so you have to get thin one bite at a time. Stay positive and soon these behaviors will have you looking and feeling so good you will thank yourself for finally doing it! Remember to take your measurements every month. When you see progress it helps to keep you motivated. Good Luck.

I quit smoking cold turkey, while also trying to break another self destructive habit. It's hard to break habits. The number one thing you have to do, and I can't stress this enough, is replace your bad habits with good ones. You can't just give up smoking if that's how you deal with stress. You have to replace smoking with a healthy way of dealing with that stress. Since you want to lose weight, try to replace smoking cravings with work outs. After working out, your brain releases endorphins that give you a feeling of well being. This can replace any cigarette high. Also, keep journals. If you slip up and smoke a cigarette instead of working out, write it down and write down how you feel. If you can combine those negative guilty feelings you already have with smoking (and possibly poor eating habits), and can associate working out and healthy habits with positive feelings, then that will take you an extra way towards doing what is good for you and FEELS good to you.

And his weight become increase and he eats limited proteinious foods and running 30 to 45 minutes per day depending on the situation. He never used to drink beer and he used limited protein. Still I don´t know whether it is true or not. He also did frequent sexual intercourse with his wife to have strong and thin waist.
