I never open an umbrella inside. When I was a kid, about nine, I opened one inside just to prove to my family how stupid that superstition is. Well, my dad was burning trash later that evening and somehow, an aerosol can slipped by unnoticed into the fire. It exploded and hit me in the shin. I refuse to open an umbrella inside to this day. That was about thirteen years ago.

I'm from Louisiana, and basically everyone here superstitious in some way, but the only superstition I find true is karma: what goes around, comes around.

Never whistle or blink rudely at the Northern Lights. I'm not sure if it is a superstition. I'm not taking any chances.

Black cats crossing my path, and walking under a ladder.
Both are supposed to bring bad luck. Oh!- and breaking a mirror is supposed to bring 7 yrs bad luck. Glad I don't work for a glass company!!
