Get UNDER a person.

Find another, for one way. But this might not be the best way, depending on who you find.
I would say, give it some time. And, take some time, think it through. Affirm that it's not the end of the world, although it may very well feel like it. List all the reasons why it's good that it's ended (if it is!). Get clear in your thinking, that is if this is it, it's over for good, for sure, then let that sink in, believe it. You can go for quite a while, making yourself miserable by wondering if you could go back and make it work.
Mainly, though, it takes time.

The best way to get over a person is to get over oneself. After all, it's not about the other person but about you. Often, the other person does not even know how we feel. Lastly, think about the fact that we are a lot better than we actually know and believe we are. Get that better you out of the box and see how fast the other person disappear

This is REALLY hard! I am a woman and have been here twice. I find if I get my hair cut in a different style and I put a rubber band on my wrist and snap it every time I think of "that" person" it helps. But truthfully, time if what solves everything and you getting on with your life and not moping around thing about your last love. Good luck, I know it hurts.

It is good to be around friends during this time. Also, immersing yourself in activities you enjoy helps to a certain degree.
One thing that will not help is the immediate jump into another relationship, this is only an opinion, but I am speaking from my personal experience.
Another thing that may sound cliche--
time, you will need time...

Good luck to you.

Being with the people who you trust, like family and friends. Do some fun things with them to where you feel good about yourself again and refreshed. Then you'll be ready for new experiences.

you should condition yourself that the person is not really for you. it may hurt but you should ACCEPT. acceptance is the most important so that you can survive the heartaches which come to your life.
