You only have one life to live, and what good is a life if you do not have a dream to pursue. A dream is used to describe any which goal you wish to accomplish in life. It is important to pursue and fulfill your dream, because in essence, you are following through with life, and this makes life not only worth living, but also worthwhile. I know this concept may be a little hard to understand in the way I explain it, but one good example of pursuing a dream can be found in Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller. Even though Willy Loman, the main protagonist, eventually dies by pursuing his dream, he dies a happy man, realizing what he needed his whole life. So it is important to pursue your dreams, if you wish to come to self realization, meaning you know yourself better as you gain experience and grow older, to better understand the environment your in and the people in it, and to overall just have a satisfying life.

If you do not pursue your dreams they will haunt you always. You will taunt yourself with thoughts of what might have been.

If you pursue your dreams and they do not turn into reality, you can be content knowing you tried your best and then settle into your fate whatever that might be.

Because...you may die in your sleep. It's possible..I've seen it happen. And to go without knowing what it would even be like to chase after something you really like..or love is just plain stupid.
If I say I want to sing when I grow up...and I get funny looks...then I have a reason to do it right? Not only to say I did it, but to say I did it, and you left me thinking I couldn't...don't you think?

It's important to have goals not dreams. Dreams are for dreamers.

Because if you don't than who will. No one, you will have left so many things undone as to regret your whole life. Not something you want to be thinking about on your death bed.Or afterlife ; )
