The mermaid girl makes some great points, but let me point out a few things too.
Although there is some degree of solidarity in the GLBT community, please understand that we are a VERY diverse group of people and we march to many different drums. I, as a gay, would no more march in a "gay pride" parade than I would swim to England. I vigorously support the rights of my brothers and sisters do so, but I simply think we need to have something more to say than "We're here and we're queer", before we do. Many of us crave the right to marry like the rest of America, yet many others don't want our relationships defined in stereotypical hetero terms. Many of us are deeply religious, yet many others have been badly burned and turned away from religion by churches who condemns for political gain. In short, get to know us before defining us... we'd love to do the same for you!

just-in (aka Mermaid girl) and Regular Guyz BOTH make great points... I would say I'm a blend of the two!

Mentioning the Log Cabin people, watch the movie "Gay Rebulicans" ...it probably sums up this question with a great example of what they didn in 2004 (which is subtly NOT endorse George Dubya) --Solidarity do a degree, but when it comes down to the end of the day, you have to choose whats right for yourSelf and not necessarily the group as a whole.

I'll stand by my brothers and sisters- more so when I agree with them, less so when not.

I'm not sure what you're asking. Are you asking if homosexuals are able to have monogamous relationships, then the answer is most assuredly, yes.
Are you asking if we actually experience LOVE for our partners, again, an emphatic, YES!
If you mean to ask if we have a type of Solidarity, yes, that's why we're called the GLBT "Community."

Generally speaking, yes. There's rifts, there's inner cliques, but when it comes down to it, I think we're pretty much all still "family". (Log cabin republicans are the black sheep uncle that no one really talks about :P)
