Easiest and quickest answer is to look at your own life and ensure the other person has those same things i.e.

-Family contact & friendships
-Sports & leisure
-Hobbies & relaxation
-Goals and the means to achieve
-Religion, faith, beliefs & culture
-Further learning & education
-Human Rights (i.e. privacy, respect, fair treatment, dignity etc)

Should a person be deprived of "any" of these things then that persons "quality of life is compromised"

compared to mos tof the people in the world mine is luxury living. When you consider african women (i never figure it out why in every culture it;'s the women doing the workl) walking miles for a days jug of muddy water, or someon in india living off of 1/4 acre of rice paddies, while children in south america scavenage for food in the trash piles.
Mine would be considered middle class here, substandard under Bill Gates view, and Rich by most of the worl;s standards.
