Babies will eat much less when teething- the ear infection did not help either. He'll go back to normal.

tooth aches can most definately be part of a decreased diet. It's also VERY common for children to go in "spurts" when it comes to eating. Remember that a serving for a baby is a portion about the size of their fist. It's not a lot to begin with. Chances are, your baby will get back to speed with his eating soon. As long as he is still having a bowel movement every day, and having at least two wet diapers as well, he is getting nutrition and hydration.

As long as he is getting at least 32 oz of formula a day he should be fine. He doesn't need anything else.
He will probably be better once his gums aren't sore
You could also try tempting him with table food that actually has some flavour. He may be sick of puree.

Sounds like a phase. Which really explains NOTHING, other than saying we can't really explain it. But, no question teething will do it. Another possibility is whether you changed food brands? If so, you could try foods he liked several months ago, if not, couldn't hurt to try some new foods/brands. But dont go hog wild. Kids are amazingly able to regulate their diet; if we don't force them to eat too much, they'll eat when they get hungry enough. You don't want him to start using food as a comfort mechanism.

It could be the teething. It could be that he still has a little eustachian dysfunction even thought the infection's cleared. In any case, assuming he's otherwise acting normally, chances are he'll be back to his old self in another week or two.

I have 4 kids, ages 4 to 19 and all of them at several different points in thier infant/toddler stages would go through growth spurts and spurts of not eating very much... It is just one of those things that we as parents have to deal with even though we don't like it. When your child is hungry, he/she will definately let you know. Good Luck...
