No, I disagree ladies. Jealousy isn't all about the other guy it's all about you. No matter how trustworthy your partner is or is not jealousy is still a pointless and evil thing! You are on the wrong track if you are looking for someone that is "worthy" of your trust.
Jealousy may be combated by self love. If you love yourself with a true and deep love then it doesn't matter if the proposed parner doesn't love you the way you want to be loved. You can love you the way you want to be loved. What a novel idea!
Jealousy can also be combated by remembering that we don't own anyone else. They owe us nothing. If they have made promises they can't keep, then they have done just that, made promises they couldn't keep. Not the end of the world-- we've all done it.

you over come jealousy after being with a person long enough to know if they would mess around on you or not. being on both sides of jealousy is a bad bad feeling...being accused of something or the one who actually believes the other is doing something. so in time when you really know how to trust that person ...jealousy fades.

Date someone who is trust worthy! I used to be the most jealous girl in the world and my boyfriend is the only man that I have dated that will do anything to prove that he loves me and doesn't want to be with anyone else but me. No matter what I say or do to him he will always tell me that he loves me and is commited to me. He lets me go through his phone, wallet, car, email whenever I want. He has nothing to hide so he hides nothing!! I don't feel the need to look through his things anymore because I trust him.
