No. if signal is low, get a wireless MIMO router & card. that is all that is required to get a better signal. even picking up just the router will improve the signal reception tho only slightly.
if you insist on getting an antenna, you can often times pick up a 15db - 30db directional amplifier antenna to direct the signal better and improve your performance on your existing equiptment. if you want to make it work and the distance is over 1000' then put a repeater in-between. this will halve the speed but boost the signal. MIMO router is about $90 and card $60 so total cost should be about $150 vs amplifier antenna (requires 2) $35/each = $70 repeater = $90

Neither the cost nor the coneverage won't strengthen. the cost & coverage relies upon upon what variety of router you have. what's the version in case you have 2 antennas in virtually an identical region and a million antenna in one region? do you think of the two antennas will strengthen the coverage? of direction not perhaps it is going to easily strengthen the reception yet not the coverage nor the cost.

Short answer? No. Long answer? Because your antennas aren't running like bit torrent does. It doesn't just split the data between the two and shoot them over (meaning you get faster rates). It's just not set up like that. Each one represents a different network. They don't work in tandem (although that would be a great idea for someone to work on)

No. Even with 2 antennas your still only transmitting one signal and that signal still travels at the same speed. If you want to juice up your speed, juice up your box. You may already have the hardware and need only acquire the software to make it happen.

sure, I did the same thing with three and it trippled the speed. The router is 3000 mbps, but with the three antennas, the download speed tests out at 9000!

no not really. if you're using 2 different wireless adapters they are cancelling each other out. two antennas will at most give you a little better signal.

Not with the configuration that you propose.
Please check the specifications for the Linksys WRT54G SRX400. When matched with the corresponding wireless adapter, it does exactly what you describe at 240Mbps
