This was a tough decision made by the parents and the doctors. They ALL had to think about what was best for the child. There is no easy answers for this one. I feel sad for both the child and the parents having to live with trying to make the best of a really bad situation. IF it gives the girl a better life, then this was a good decision. Especially if it is true that breast cancer runs in the mother's family. I am guessing that NO medical insurance paid for the surgery so the parents really had to go deep in debt, just to give their daughter a better life.

It's a hard decision either way. I think the parents were doing what they felt was best. What would any of us do in that situation? They want to allow their daughter to live with them as long as possible and be a part of the family. Have any of you had to care for a seriously ill, developmentally disabled child? This child can't sit, roll over, stand, etc. She is just like a newborn baby. Could YOU care for an adult size newborn baby? If I had to choose for my child, I would definitely consider the options.

i dont know, i mean, if it was unhealthy or watever, the doctors wouldn't have done it in the first place. and at least the parents didn't dump her in some home the minute they found out it was a problem, they're thinking realistically, they'll be getting older eventually, and might not be able to physically handle a full sized woman who can't function on her own. at the same time, it just seems strange

sure, my dad could say that to my brother. This grew to become into the eighty's. And no, i could in no way say that to my son. To be elementary~ he does not even get spankings. i'll tell him that if he does not give up whining he would be going to mattress genuine after dinner. He has continuously stopped.

that's their child, no one can understand what they're going through . they're not abusing her, they're taking care of her the best way they can. who are we to judge. there's other worst cases where little children are being beaten and yet the courts don't take them out of their homes, only when it's too late

This is immoral and disgusting! There are just some people out there that were not biologically designed to be parents, and this is a prime example.

Since they are the ones who are going to take care of her and the fact that she will never be right again, I think it is fine.

I think it's not our place to judge what parents think is best to do in such a heartbreaking situation.
