UK...apart from anything - you can't beat the original and Gervais wrote it, so he knows how he wants it played, right? :)

Ricky Gervais' 'David Brent' is far and away better than Steve Carell's 'Michael Scott.' Seeing as how Michael Scott is spawned from and based on the original, David Brent, it would take an unbelievable performance for Michael Scott to even match Brent. Not that I don't like Steve Carell's performance (which I do love), but Ricky Gervais is truly classic as David Brent.

As much as I hate to admit it, I can't get past the accents on the UK version. They are sooo heavy and that annoys me, so it ruins the good parts for me. Besides that, Steve Carrell is just plain hilarious. I love everything he's in. I wish i could meet him...
So this means I enjoy the US version by a long shot. It also deals with more things in America and such in the same way the other caters to Europe more.

The UK one. It's got more of the 'fly-on-the-wall' feeling that was intended. The US one, although funny, is just a little too farcical, with the main character being more of a 'funny-character' than Gervais' deluded loser - David Brent.

I still have not seen the UK Office. But in other shows that do that, the UK version is usually better. I love the US version. "Michael" is so good at being a moron it's he is almost painful to watch...but because you worry about the poor schmuck! Now that's good!
