Who cares what people say about the way you're going to spell the name of your unborn son. It is YOUR son not THEIRS. I would tell them to get over it and go on and name your son with the spelling. I am very big into different spelling b/c then your child is going to be different than other children. Nothing wrong with that! Ive seen Dillon spelled that way so I do not understand why they are having a cow over a spelling. So dont worry about those idiots and relax and enjoy your time. :) Congrats!

I don't see anything wrong with your spelling. It isn't the most popular way but it isn't unheard of either. I have had a couple students spell their names Dillon and not Dylan. I have had a Dillon Michael and a Dylan Michael as well. :)
Congrats! Spell it any way you want! SD

Don't pay attention to anyone else and don't let anyone's opinion determine what your son's name is. I named my son after his grandfather, even though it was not a common name and some of my family really downplayed it for me. Now I am so happy I named him the way that I wanted to, and the name has definately grown on everyone else! I think Dillon is a great name, so go ahead!

Well, I am personally very picky for composed names like that, I'm not lying to you, I dont like it very much, and the name "Dillon", I think I've never heard it before, dont you like "Dylan" better, I like it for a boy. Of course, it doesnt match with Michael neither, but it's not a bad name. Well, honey it's your decision, and it's your son, what do you care about gifts? If you like that name go ahead, just think it's going to be the name of your son forever, so choose wisely.
Good luck, and congrats!!!! I wish the best for you and your baby!!!!!

Kinda torn on this one......I did the same thing with my son - gave him an unusual spelling for a name. I do think you should do what you want - that being said, I totally regret the spelling I gave him. He is now 9 and constantly having to spell his name. I wish I would have given him the more common spelling. Just think very, very carefully

Didn't you get the memo? Never tell anyone what you are going to name the baby - they will tell you they don't like it and you name the baby that anyway - You'll always know they didn't like it. Just say you haven't decided, and when they ask what names you are thinking of just say that there are so many you like and you probably won't decide until you see the baby. Besides, there are a ton of catalogs that personalize child's things. It's not really expensive either. The stuff that already has names on it is alot of cheap junk anyway.

I personality do not like the spelling of Dillon because it reminds me of that pickle jar Dillon.
I think it is more handsome to spell it Dylan Michael.
If I had to spell dillon, I would spell it "Dylan"

Change it. Dillon looks wrong. Why can't you spell it the conventional way? Frankly Dillon is a horribly overused woosie name. Go for Michael.

If you like the name go with it, just be prepared to explain to the child why they have a unique name that has no merchandizing to go with it. Teach them to be strong with having a different name. You can tell your friends that you dislike having personalized gifts from stores that do not customize them to your wants and needs. This is the name that helps fill your void of needs and that is just the way you want it.
